Miss France is back!

With the all the rage between organizations claiming for the primacy of a genuine Miss France - and the TV rights that come with it, I decided to put an end to this nonsense. AD 2011, last year of the reign of Nicolas 1er, Yelle has been appointed Miss France. By myself, who else?

The beauty queen is back with an album I take it, well, she had a single out this week.

Safari Disco Club

It was about time, my Cooler Couleur vynil was all scratched, I kept playing it.

The former track is related to the latter, you can feel that theme, a more sophisticated touch, polished finish compared to the debut album. Not necessarily a good thing, I liked the genuine sounds of Pop-up. Mind you, not a bad thing either. Miss France has evolved, that's all.

It's funny though, that new track reminded me of Rectangle by Jacno, not you?

Sarkonò Sarkosì

Not sure what Simone Cristicchi is saying about Carla Bruni or her husband Nicolas and to tell you the truth I don't care - yeah, nique les paroles! I find the chorus quite catchy though: Sarkonò Sarkosì, Sarkonò Sarkosì! Maybe Cristicchi should produce Carlita's new album?

French history lesson AD 2009

Once Upon A Time in the Kingdom of France was living a nepotic ruler called Sarkozy I.

As Villain Sarko was aging, he decided to prepare for his successor and picked his cadet Jean Sarkozy to become Sarkozy II. He who was more commonly known as "fils à papa" to the people of France failed to win followers. As a result a revolution took place and as Sarkozy I was being pulled by the Parisian crowds, the last words he pronounced were: " Give them scooters!". Serge Llado, a famous bard wrote a song to commemorate the event!

Paris is burning

Ladyhawke threw on the dancefloors one of the hottest tracks of last year and she is back with a French version, well, no wonder because that bomb track is all about Paris. You got it, the world capital of romance...but also a hot scene for party and dancing, well at least according to the lyrics of the song. Mind you its true there is some life in Paris nightlife, though its definitely not London. That's probably why Ladyhawke moved there when she decided to leave her motherland New Zealand to party hard in Europe.

The almighty French wizards are back! 10 years ago, Air were releasing a masterpiece called Moon Safari and to celebrate in style are spoiling us with a Deluxe edition simply called Moon Safari 2008, oddly enough!

They are also created a new website to record fans' memories of the launch...

It takes a miracle!

The only way France could win the Eurovision contest in Belgrade, Serbia on the 24th of May this year, is by pulling a miracle!

And who else is better positioned than Sébastien Tellier, with such a Jesus look!

You got it, the French electropiano maestro will sing Divine and try to beat the odds!

France is currently at 15/1 which has been shortening.

If you come back, I cancel everything...

Whether the text message that Mister President Sarkozy sent to his former wife, one week before getting married with Miss Bruni is true or not, well at least, it gave inspiration to Jeanne Cherhal. So much so that one fine morning in her little town in Brittany, as she was getting up, she wrote that song: Si tu reviens...

Its a love song really, not a piss take so leave her alone!!!
